OUR TOUR GUIDE: RABBI JEREMY POUPKO

Rabbi Jeremy Poupko is a graduate of Yeshiva University where he studied Economics, Jewish History, and Semicha. Jeremy has been a licensed Israeli tour guide since 2010 and has guided thousands of happy clients. He is also a licensed birthright tour educator.

 

Jeremy lives in Jerusalem with his wife and eight children. He is a part-time Rabbi in his community and divides his time between studying, teaching Torah and guiding families and tour groups around the land of Israel.

OUR TOUR GUIDE: EYTAN RUND

Eytan Rund has been guiding tours across Eretz Yisrael for over 17 years. He has led over 50 gap year program tours and hundreds of soldier groups and tourists from around the world on riveting tours around the country. He was a paratrooper in the IDF, is happily married, and has four daughters. He is as passionate as they come about his job in the land of Israel.

OUR TOUR GUIDE: MOSHE NORMAN

Moshe Norman is an educator and certified tour guide with experience guiding dozens of Chizuk tours in the Gaza Envelope. Moshe was born and raised in Jerusalem, He currently lives in Betar illit and is happily married to Rivki Schwab. Moshe is a father to six adorable kids. He studied in the Mir Yeshiva and by R Y. Fridman Shlita. Moshe has been involved in education for over 10 years, including a שליחות in Chile for three years. He is a strong believer in connecting The Jewish people to Am Israel and Eretz Israel.

OUR TOUR GUIDE: DANIEL LURIA

Daniel Luria serves as the Executive Director and International Spokesman for Ateret Cohanim, an Israeli organization dedicated to reestablishing Jewish life in Jerusalem’s Old City and surrounding neighborhoods. In his role, Luria is recognized as a global expert on Jerusalem, focusing on urban development and the city’s historical significance.  

 

Under his leadership, Ateret Cohanim has been instrumental in acquiring and restoring properties within the Old City, aiming to strengthen the Jewish presence in areas that were historically Jewish. Luria frequently leads tours, both in-person and virtual, to educate participants about the organization’s efforts and the rich history of these neighborhoods.

In addition to his administrative duties, Luria is an active writer and speaker, contributing articles and insights on topics related to Jerusalem’s development and geopolitical issues. His perspectives are often featured on the organization’s platforms and in various media outlets. 

​

Luria’s work with Ateret Cohanim reflects a commitment to preserving and revitalizing Jerusalem’s Jewish heritage, ensuring that the city’s historical and cultural legacy continues for future generations.

OUR TOUR GUIDES: RABBI DAVID LEBOR AND ADINA LEBOR

Rabbi David Lebor is a distinguished educator and leader within the Jewish community. He has served as a Lieutenant in the Israeli Army, holding the position of Rav Zvai (Chaplain) for a tank battalion. In 1982-1983, Rabbi Lebor was the Rosh HaYeshiva of Yeshivat Orot HaGalil in Chatzor HaGlilit. He later returned to Yeshivat Sha’alvim, where he has been a Ra”M (teacher) and Sgan Mashgiach (assistant dean). In 1997, Rabbi Lebor and his family spent a year on shlichut in Chicago, where he served as Rosh Kollel of the Torah MiTzion Kollel.

Adina Lebor is a licensed tour guide with over 20 years of experience leading groups throughout Israel and Europe. She specializes in creating tailor-made itineraries that cater to the unique interests and needs of families and groups. Through engaging storytelling and unique perspectives, Adina brings the rich history and culture of the regions to life for her clients.

Together, Rabbi David and Adina Lebor have dedicated their lives to education, spiritual leadership, and sharing the heritage of Israel with others.

Ammunition HIll 

During the 6 day war in Jerusalem there were dozens of battles. All the battle sites were converted and sold for real estate except for one, Ammunition Hill.  On Ammunition Hill a heroic and inspirational battle took place. After the war it was declared an official memorial site, in order the younger generation be inspired from the stories that took place there.

Underground Prison Museum

The underground prison was a prison in the heart of Jerusalem run by the British mandatory Force. In addition to regular criminals, the prison held many Jews who were involved in the underground movements that were fighting for Jewish Independence in the years prior to 1948. This museum tells their story.

Har Hertzel 

Har Hertzel, is the main military cemetery in Israel. Walking through the cemetery we will learn and hear different stories of fallen soldiers from Israel’s many heroic battles. Especially since October 7th, this is one of the places that a Jew must visit before leaving Eretz Yisrael.

Tour highlights:

Sderot

Sderot is the closest city to Gaza which has been under the threat of rockets for the past 24 years!! Understand how close the threat is at a lookout point to Northern Gaza. And yet Sderot is growing and flourishing! We will also visit the memorial site where the Sderot police station used to stand before it was bombed on October 7th. We will learn about the heros of Sderot who faced the terrorists head on.

Tekuma

We will visit the cemetery of the burnt cars and we will hear stories of the people who drove those vehicles on that difficult day. We will learn firsthand how much we each mean to each other and must care for one another.

Reim – The Nova site:

The place where the "Nova" party was held on October 7th.

The Bomb shelter of a Aner Shapira

Aner Elyakim Shapira was born on March 12, 2001 and died a hero on October 7, 2023. While taking cover in a shelter, Shapira threw back at Hamas militants 7 explosive grenades they had originally thrown into the shelter. Ultimately, he saved the lives of at least 7 people who survived the massacre.
